Questions about FFKM recycling

Short answers about closed-loop FFKM regeneration, what we accept, and what you get back.

Can FFKM be recycled?

Yes. Cured perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) scrap, such as moulding flash and rejected parts, can be regenerated. Fanilo's proprietary process uses ozone and dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma to break the crosslinks while keeping the polymer backbone intact, without solvents, added chemicals or heat.

What is closed-loop FFKM recycling?

A manufacturer's own FFKM is regenerated and returned to the same manufacturer for reuse. This covers production scrap, and used parts that a fab returns to the manufacturer. Each lot is handled separately.

Does regeneration change the formulation?

No. Fanilo does not change the customer's formulation. Colour and transparency are preserved.

What FFKM scrap do you accept?

FFKM scrap that is free of tape and other foreign matter. Lots that contain them are returned unprocessed, and a handling fee applies.

What happens to mixed colours?

A single colour comes back as that colour, and clear FFKM comes back clear. Colours sent together are regenerated together and returned as one mixed lot.

How much of the scrap is returned?

At least 90% of the scrap is returned as usable material.

How long does it take?

Within 30 days worldwide. The actual lead time depends on capacity.

What is PERFLUVIA™?

PERFLUVIA™ is Fanilo's product brand for regenerated FFKM. It was formerly named AKRON.

Where is Fanilo located?

Fanilo Incorporated is based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and serves customers worldwide.

Send us a sample of your FFKM scrap and we will run a trial batch.
